Luise Mühlbach (1814-1873), a German novelist, was the pen name of Clara Mundt. She wrote more than fifty novels, chiefly historical romances that became quite popular in her native Germany and overseas in England and America. She was a prominent advocate of women's suffrage and actively participated in several reform movements.
